Production Design Assistant
Sock Club has an exciting new opportunity on the Design Team for a Production Design Assistant. As a leader in the promotional products industry, Sock Club strives for the highest level of custom sock design and customer satisfaction. The Production Design Assistant position aims to work hand in hand with our robust team of Sock Production Designers to move our pipeline forward in a speedy manner while preserving the quality of our designs that we are known for in the industry.
The Production Design Assistant will be dedicated to assisting our in-house Sock Production Designers through various production related tasks such as preparing design files for our mills, design revisions for our in-house designers and preparation of design assets. An ideal candidate should be comfortable with working in a fast paced, creative environment, focused on delivering top-notch service to our Sock Production Designers and more importantly our customers. This includes collaborating within our close-knit (pun intended) Design team as well as our Customer Success, Marketing and Operations teams. This is an entry level position with strong growth potential on the team.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Design Support: Assist Sock Production Designers in design revisions and creating assets such as logos, templates for various projects.
- Preparing files for production: Responsible for preparing artwork for production ensuring adherence to brand guidelines.
- Quality Control: Check design deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project specifications.
- File Management: Organize and maintain digital asset libraries. Creating new icons, patterns and artwork to add to our robust asset library.
- Creative Problem Solving: Assist in solving design challenges by proposing innovative solutions and alternative approaches. Adapt quickly to changing project priorities and requirements.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements. Maintain clear and consistent communication channels with clients throughout the design process. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales and operations) as needed.
- Team Support: Provide support to team members as needed, including assisting with overflow work and covering tasks during absences. Proactively contribute ideas and insights to team discussions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Proven experience (1-2 years) in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain high-quality standards in a deadline-driven setting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Print production experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Adobe Products (Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Be open, want to learn, have a can-do attitude, and take on new responsibilities as they come up
